According to Russian media reports on May 17, Germany Lilium Company successfully completed the test of five electric flight taxis. The product is manufactured according to the schematic diagram of the vertical landing aircraft and is planned to be put into use in several cities by 2025.
Lilium's trial used an unmanned mode. The flight taxi designed a seat for 1 pilot and 5 passengers and is expected to fly 300 kilometers an hour.
The developer said that when flying in a cruise state, the rotor of the flying taxi will only use 10% of the maximum power. The schematic diagram of the flying taxi has two stationary wings and 36 electric rotors (12 on the front wing and 24 on the rear wing). With these wings and rotors, the flying taxi can complete the vertical take-off and landing, and the rotor can be horizontally moved to ensure horizontal flight.
The flight taxi took off near Munich on May 4 for the first unmanned flight. The flight test was successful and the next task for Lilium's engineers was to conduct a comprehensive test.
