SkyDrive

English version

Recently, every flying car is in the sky! During the test, the four-axle aircraft of the assembly line four aircraft propellers first flew to the sky (about 3 meters from the ground) and returned to the road after about 1 minute of detention. The detected flying car was driven by the Japan National Electric Corporation (NEC). Corp) and CART!VATOR have cooperated and developed, and they will be able to start large-scale production in 2026.

The definition of flying vehicles has become increasingly prominent. In June 2019, Uber was announced at this year's Gaobo Main Conference. If any plan is carried out, Uber Air flight taxis will take off and land in Dallas, New York and Sydney in 2023. Uber can be called the most proactive company to change the world's traffic travel layout. In 2016, the company announced this nearly 83-page market research report to outline its metropolitan taxi system software.

In fact, apart from Uber Technology Co., Ltd., relying on high-tech giants like Kitty Hawk, traditional aerospace industry like Airbus, and every flying car startup company is also competing to enter, many of which have been released. With the flying car products, the aviation automobile manufacturing industry is full of enthusiasm.

First, the NEC detects the flying car and stays in the air for 1 minute.

According to reports, Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. recently demonstrated a manned aircraft equipped with four aircraft propellers. The test went to Japan Electric Co., Ltd., which was located in the inspection site of Abiko, a suburb of Tokyo, Japan. For safety reasons, safety is correct, and all the lifts of the flying car will be safely caged. During the whole process of testing, the four-axis aircraft driven by the rechargeable battery was first raised to an area of about 10 thousand gold (3 meters) from the road surface, and stayed in the air for about 1 minute and then returned to the road surface for specific inspection. At the time, the flying car did not carry people. According to the British Financial Times, this performance was part of the first batch of performances of the Japanese National Electric Company.

The flying car in the shape of the test is close to the "Little Flying Elephant"

Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. and the young volunteer team CART!VATOR have jointly developed the protagonist of the film roadshow. According to statistics, the test flying vehicle uses composite reinforced plastic (CFRP), weighing 130kg, 3.2m long and 3.6m wide. It is about 1.3m high. In the foreign media Engadget, if you add the net weight of the passengers, then the safety of staying in midair, regardless of the length of time, is an equivalent of a large hone.

Japan’s National Electric Company expressed its opinion to journalists and expects to maintain the productization of transportation logistics in 2023. Kouji Okada, the project manager of the company’s “flying car”, told reporters that the experiment will be “flying”. First of all, the Japanese electric company has also collected statistical data from experimental aviation, and then prepared for the establishment of an operational intelligent management system.

However, Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. does not intend to put the flying car into production. It is the CITA!VATOR project partner of the Japan Electric Group, which plans to mass-produce the flying car in 2026, according to Bloomberg. According to reports, compared with their competitors, Japan Electric Co., Ltd. and CART!VATOR, which are supported by the Japanese government, may have an advantage. Currently, CART!VATOR has obtained an outdoor flight permit, which means that the flying car will not be put into use. It’s just about it.

Second, CART! VATOR: Volunteer groups supported by 79 companies

Although there is nothing special about the flight test in the past, there is something to be concerned about in this project. Accurately speaking, the development of this flying car is the two "big brothers", except for Japan Electric. Outside the company, the volunteer group CART!VATOR is not too small.

CART!VATOR Resource Management (CART!VATOR Resource Management) signed a cooperation agreement with Japan Electric Corporation in 2018 to jointly develop a flying car. CART!VATOR Resource Management is a company that manages volunteer activities, but CART!VATOR resource management The CART!VATOR itself is a community of young volunteers working in the automotive, aerospace industry and startups. Team members develop flying cars on weekends and currently have more than 100 members.

In September 2012, Nakamura and friends won the first prize in the business competition KOREARATA, and the original CART!VATOR team was established. The name of CART!VATOR has a detail. According to the official statement, "i is not used." Instead, use "!" to express the experience that makes them feel excited.

CART!VATOR has been developing the flying car SkyDrive since January 2014. Six months later, the 1/5 scale prototype model was successfully tested. By September 2017, CART!VATOR has launched a new SkyDrive concept model.

SkyDrive

According to official CART VATOR news, the organization's goal is to create a world where anyone can fly freely in the sky. To achieve this vision, a compact flying car is needed. The flying car SkyDrive developed by CART!VATOR is battery-driven. It is 3.6 meters long and 1.7 meters wide (3.1m wide during flight), and has a height of about 1.1m. Its maximum flight speed will reach 100km/h. The maximum ground speed of the target is 60km/h and the target flying altitude is 50m. With 2 passengers, the maximum take-off weight is 400kg. According to CART!VATOR, SkyDrive can take off from public roads and is the smallest flying car in the world.

In 2018, members of CART!VATOR formed the startup SkyDrive Inc, focusing on the development, manufacturing and sales of “flying cars”. From the perspective of its main team members, Toyota played an important role in SkyDrive Inc., president of SkyDrive. And vice president of engineering are all from Toyota Motor Corporation, where President Tomohiro Fukuzawa is responsible for global procurement of auto parts at Toyota, Kenichi Yamamoto joined CART!VATOR in 2015, and is mainly engaged in robots at Toyota. Development work.

In fact, Toyota is also one of the sponsors of CART!VATOR. According to the official list, there are 79 corporate supporters of CART!VATOR. In addition to Toyota and Nippon Electric, Panasonic and video game company Bandai Namco also Listed among them.

According to the plan of CART!VATOR, it will test the passenger aircraft in September 2019, and begin to sell the flying car to the public in 2023. At the same time, it plans to realize the mass production of passenger flying cars in 2026. !VATOR has already tested the drone with SkyDrive.

Third, the government joined the flight car layout. The enterprise is still the main force of research and development.

At present, there are more than a dozen companies engaged in the development of flying vehicles worldwide, except for Kitty Hawk, Lilium, Aeromobil, PAL-V, Uber, Airbus, and Air China, which are frequently seen in front of the camera. Visiting Terrafugia, as well as Zee.Aero, Moller International, Volocopter, etc., it seems that flying cars become a daily means of transportation into the homes of ordinary people, and it is not out of reach.

On the whole, the main force in the development of global flying vehicles is still various companies and companies, but in the landing and popularization of flying cars, the government has begun to play a more important role. According to Bloomberg News, according to the government's technical roadmap, the delivery of aircraft can become a reality in Japan around 2023. In the 2030s, people can travel by car in Japan. After missing technological advances such as electric vehicles and car service, the Japanese government hopes to become a leader in the field of flying cars, and in addition to Japan, Dubai, New Zealand and Singapore have expressed similar intentions.

The development and landing of flying vehicles are “in progress”, but there are still some problems, or it will become a roadblock for the popularity of flying cars.

According to the aircraft or product plan currently designed by each company, the flying car is mainly used to solve short-distance traffic problems in individuals, that is, mainly to provide short-distance traffic within the city. From this point of view, in order to truly fly to the streets, in addition to the need to make breakthroughs in price, policy and safety, we must also properly solve the technical problems of vertical take-off and landing, electrification and noise reduction.

The existing flying vehicles mostly use the helicopter's vertical take-off and landing mode. As is known, traditional helicopters generate huge noise when the cranes cut and cut air. Sustainable Aviation CEO Brien Seely once said that if you want to deploy flights in the city. In the car, the noise needs to be reduced to 50 decibels first, otherwise it will affect the residents. However, at present, the noise of electric flight is still too high, which is also the case only from the Japanese electric company's flying car.

Conclusion: In the flying car industry, what are Chinese game players doing?

The aviation automobile manufacturing industry is very lively. The gamers from China are not missing. The unmanned aircraft manufacturer Yihang is a key game player in China's aviation automobile manufacturing industry. In 2016, Yihang exhibited each of them at CES. Passenger aircraft, UAV 184, in April 2019, its passenger flying vehicle AAV (Autonomous Aerial Vehicle) in Vienna, Austria, for the first time announced the passenger air show, has been concerned. In addition to the report, in addition to the opening of the billion airlines, Muyu Airlines' flying car "Red Dragonfly" will also test flight in September.

On the floor-standing level of flying vehicles, China is a ancestor. Guangzhou and Yihang signed a strategic cooperation agreement and became a pilot city for air traffic.

Only in general, compared with the research and development and rational layout of the products of the world's flying cars, the scale of the operation of China's aviation automobile manufacturing industry is still a little spacing.
