English version

Today's practical flying cars have been around since 2009.

At this stage, flying cars are only suitable for short-distance travel.

The cost is too high to prevent large-scale marketing and popularization of flying cars at this stage.

Writer Brecht said that old things have always appeared as new things. This statement is very suitable for the footnote of this news report:

December 3: The world's first "flying car" that can safely drive on the ground and fly above the air appears.

The flying car was developed by Spain's PAL-V Auto Group and it appeared at the Miami Air Show. A related news is that not long ago, a real estate developer in Miami announced that the plan would update the Paramount Miami World Center's observatory to a flying car harbor for future flying cars. The owner of the program said that the design was inspired by the 1962 cartoon Jason Family.

Again, it seemed that the future would come unprepared.

When you also talk about autonomous driving and pure electric vehicles, some people have prepared us to bring the car to the sky together. A market survey on air traffic revealed that if the taxis above show service items to about 80,000 passengers in the United States every day, the airport capacity will reach 4,000. In the first two years of operation, the annual use value of this sales market is estimated at approximately $ 2.5 billion.

That sounds pretty. So, how far are flying cars from people?

This is not the first time a flying car has appeared in a tech news section.

Henry Ford had predicted this in 1935, and he told customers:

The fusion of airport and car is coming, everyone will laugh, but it must come.

Flying cars in today's actual sense appeared in 2009. At that time, the British company Trafalgar announced that the product had developed the world's first flying car: Transition. During the test flight at that time, after the car was full of fuel, it could fly 500 kilometers at a time. After landing, you can extend and retract the wing of the airplane and drive on the highway.

Just one year later, the Terrafugia enterprise, founded by five MIT students, announced that it has produced land-air dual-use deformation vehicles and obtained a commercial production license from the American Aviation Authority.

This enterprise ignited Li Shufu's "flying dream". In 2017, it was recovered by the state-owned sole proprietorship. At the time of the recovery, Li Shufu said that he would release the first flying car in 2019-people who are keen on "nuclear-powered cars" often have procrastination.

In 2017, Tengxun also invested in French flying car company Lilium.

There is also Uber who wants to let humans drive. The transportation company has announced that it will just begin the inspection of flying cars in 2020, and put the funds for flying car service projects into commerce in 2023. Therefore, it specialized in creating an airline unit.

Updating and reworking future work, of course, will inevitably Google. Previously, Google founder Larry Page, came to the United Kingdom to develop and design flying taxis. In addition, he has also invested in Kitty Hawk, a flying car company based in Texas, USA.

Startups around the world have pinned their hopes on this industry. Startups on this runway have appeared in Africa, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Ukraine, and Japan. In China, a company named EHang is also trying to apply their drone technology to passenger unmanned quadcopters.

At this stage, there are many more than 70 companies worldwide who have designed, manufactured and tested flying cars. Among them, the most overall strength is well-known airport and automobile companies, such as Airbus, Airbus, Daimler, Audi and other companies.

This industry has also been favored by the Ministry of Defense.

In 2016, the U.S. Army once tried to transport special operations troops with modified flying cars. After that, the British Ministry of Defence changed its concept, positioning it precisely as a new era of off-road vehicles, and just started a new trial in 2019.

These types of aerial mobility tools, which are much quieter than helicopters, will appear in the arena someday in the future.
